With elections coming soon, president Vladimer Shengelia has every right to be worried about his position. The Northern Accord for Unity or the NAU party is losing popularity in its voter base in the north to parties like the Clujkh Conservative Movement and the Alkhan-Tiso Liberation Party that promise a loose rule of the country and more political freedoms. Furthermore, the RMI in the south is consolidating its own voters including some in the center and the north of the country, it is getting increasingly dire for the current government. It's been widely discussed that there is a possibility that the CCM and ATLP will join the RMI in coalition in order to moderate the politics and bring more voters in. The NAU's response was to rally for some coalition parties in the south and they were able to secure the SAA. Overall, however, it's clear that the southern party RMI has the advantage and will probably win the presidency.
