The Queendom of Choslow had short notice that such an event was occurring, was still able to send a proper delegation to the halls of the Велике Економічне Об'єднання, or Stóra Efnahagssamband. It really depended on who you were talking to in Choslow. It has been the talk of the country for the past couple months and much debate has occcured in public and in the news going back and forth. The delegation of Choslow is headed by one of the Duchesses of Choslow, hailing from the Duchy of Charivon, Aela Cernat. A cautious and reserved individual tempered in the flames of being the head of one of the largest blacksmith guilds within the country, as well as a Архимаг, or Yfirmaður for the House of Weok, as well as playing foreign diplomat. Aela in appearance is tall, standing at 205cm, or 80.7in. She has bright blonde hair that is tied up into a braided bun, and is quite muscular from the work at the blacksmithery. Her eyes shine a bright ruby red as she scans the room she is in, fidgeting slightly in the formal blazer suit she had to wear for this occasion. She notices each party is slowly saying what they have to say. She does question why she is here, considering she doesn't have final say for most of these decisions. Each would be left up to the Queen to decide, she is more playing mediator and being a witness and presence from Choslow, still, she can speak how she feels.
Aela coughs lightly, clearing her throat before she speaks, “So, it is my pleasure to make all of your acquaintances. I do hope we'll get to see each other more often as the time goes.” Aela gives a tiny curtsy, before continuing, “I've been listening to this discussion for a time, but I can't help feeling hesitant about participating. It seems like a significant commitment, and I'm not sure if we're ready for it. Especially on such short notice.”
Aela frowns slightly as she glances down at the various paperwork detailing the single currency motion, then she looks back up, “I've been reading through the paperwork here, it is quite clear the economic integration could lead to increased trade and investment opportunities. However, I can't help but worry about the risks involved. Especially for the Queendom of Choslow.”
Aela proceeds to shuffle through more of the paperwork, glancing at the other delegates, trying not to look too awkward doing this, “Additionally, there seem to be diverse opinions within the discussions themselves. This motion was originally brought up with the optimistic outlook that it could have the potential for economic growth and stability, while others raise concerns about the potential for inequality and loss of control, specifically within the Choslish puppet state of Santi Rasta.”
Aela continues on, in an almost tirade, “Looking at the larger picture here, there's also the issue of interdependence. By relying heavily on other member states here, we may all become vulnerable to their economic fluctuations or political decisions. Looking at the numbers, Choslow is the one with the current highest GDP in total. This suggests we would have to lower the value within our country to adopt this currency. It's crucial to consider the long-term implications before committing.” Aela takes a deep breath before pushing on, “Another aspect that worries me is the process of continuously implementing and adjusting to the union's rules and regulations. It has already required significant changes to our existing systems and procedures, which has been both time-consuming and disruptive. And now asking us to change our currency for an economic union that has existed for half a year, when we have been using a singular currency for over a thousand years. I don't believe this to be reasonable at this time. Moreover, I can't ignore the uncertainty surrounding the union's future in general. While it may be promising right now, factors such as political shifts or economic crises could alter the dynamics entirely. We would need more time to see that this will actually survive the tests of time."
Aela slowly sputters out, kinda just noticing that she went on a long rant there, and blushes ever so lightly almost non-visible just based on her complexion. She slowly lowers herself back in her seat, and opens her mouth to add one last bit, “For now, I'll keep observing the discussions, but we won't rush into any decisions. As well as anything here has to be brought back to the Queen, and her council to help decide if Choslow would be willing to do this.” After finishing all that, she fiddles with a ring on her left hand on her pointer finger, twisting it ever so lightly with her thumb as she proceeds to flip through the various paperwork in front of her again.
