Broadcast breakthrough

The day in the capital district was like any other, the sun was blocked out by smog and the red legion HQ was full of activity. In the communications wing was as boring as ever, radio transmissions coming in and out every so often, and the operators where not very engaged either.

Radio operator 1: "Why did we need to get stuck on transmission duty, nothing ever HAPPENS"

The radio operator leans far back in his chair and lets out a loud sigh.

Radio operator 2: "I know, they should seriously pay us more. This is worse than being part of the pitc-"

The Radio operator is interrupted by the ringing of one of the radio packs. its not one of the callsigns in red legion, or tepror for that matter. So the radio operator quickly answered the radio.

Radio operator 1: "Roger roger this is red legion HQ, please state your name, rank, and message you wish to convey"

In the Ministry of Communications, Liao Wei was working with his radio equipment and trying to get used to his new home, he had just immigrated to the West and found a job in the north-western territories which provided far more benefits and pay for his profession than his old residence in the east, Liao was working away at his cubicle when he came across his first airwave and as his job was to intercept and investigate any waves he naturally began to dig further to see what he could find, not long after he made his way through and went about to see if anyone was on the airwaves:

Radio operator 1: (unrecognizable language) "Roger roger this is red legion HQ, please state your name, rank, and message you wish to convey"

Liao: (Zhōngguórén) "Hello? To whom am I speaking to?"

The radio operators stare at each other confused, they try to call someone to track the signal without the other end hearing.

Radio operator 1: "Im sorry repeat, preferably in electarian or ministry standard. This is a Millitary channel, please only use official skimtari languages when speaking here.

Confused by this, Liao looked around but decided against getting help and instead continued to try to question the people on the other side:

Liao: (Zhōngguórén) "Excuse me? I don't understand what you're saying, speak Zhōngguórén, Zhōngguó. Rén."

Radio operator: "if this is a serious broadcast please speak in ministry standard or electrarian. if not break away from this frequency now"

If liao was paying attention he might be able to hear a low pitched beeping on the tepror side.

Liao faintly hears a beeping noise and is fairly annoyed by these people, by then he'd been able to trace the signal somewhere west but wasn't sure exactly where he was talking to.

Liao: (Zhōngguórén) "Ahem sir, state your location and name. If you are unable to communicate then please hand it over to someone who can."

The radio operator falls terminates the communication and the line goes dead(haha dead joke). but before that one last message breaks through, "Connection terminated".

After this little incident the radio operators quickly scramble to inform their superior to tell them the news.

As some words came over the receiver Liao lost contact of his correspondent moments later, he was puzzled about his discovery especially considering it was his first day on the job so he followed normal procedure and wrote down the last position he was able to locate the signal and printed out the transcript between the two before marching to his boss’s office to inform him of the recent incident:

Gilbert: (Déyǔ) “So what’dya find, kid?”

Liao: (Déyǔ) “Found a new language I haven't heard before, managed to trace a general location but was unable to pinpoint since I’m still getting used to my new equipment.”

Gilbert: (Déyǔ) “No problem! Just learn it quick kid, else I gotta start taking responsibility.”

Liao: (Déyǔ) “Yes, sir!”

Liao saluted, turned, and left.

A squad leader marches into his commander’s office;

Squad Leader: (Déyǔ) “Sir the preparation is complete the information provide by Sir Gilbert were interesting to say the least and our forward observation team has warned of a heavy toxin presence, we’d had sent three squads to investigate the area but none have returned since last week, we have started preparations for a forth within 3 days of last contact which had taken a week to get everything together but I believe we’re ready to finally discover what’s beyond.”

Commander: (Déyǔ) “Very good squad leader I expect good news upon your return, I also expect regular updates on your status during your expedition and the recovery of our lost equipment due to these expeditions.

Squad Leader: (Déyǔ) “I will not let you down sir. Praise our great leader!”

The squad leader salutes his commander and he returns the favour, the squad leader leaves and begins preparing his men. Three days later they arrive at the edge of their destination with heavy smog making visibility near impossible forcing them to use their thermal cameras, they make it through with few turbulances and soon discover what looks to be an outpost that seems to be fully manned:

Soldier: (Déyǔ) “We’ve spotted a foreign outpost!”

Squad Leader: (Déyǔ) “What are our options?”

Soldier: “We can fire on them, try to negotiate, or move on.”

Squad Leader: (Déyǔ) “What are chances if we fight?”

Soldier: (Déyǔ) “We presume there are heavy air defence inside, so low.”

Squad Leader: (Déyǔ) “Then we move on, investigate the area if possible and see what’s so important out here.”

Soldier: (Déyǔ) “Understood sir.”

The airship flew around the outpost making sure to avoid contact as much as possible, exploring further revealed a large sealed entrance which the squad leader sent four men to investigate, when they landed they began to stumble over to the entrance and see if they were able to get inside which led them to try to scramble a keypad that seemed to be connected to the oversized door

The keypad laid before them had a 5/5 key pad on the side of the door, all the buttons have what looks to be chicken scratch on them. But they dont have much time to look it over, as a truck start quickly driving towards the door.

Once the truck makes a full stop a skimtari jumps out of the passenger seat and starts to type in a code. It takes a full 30 seconds for the code to be put in and the door to open, once it opens fully the skimtari gets back in the truck. Then the truck starts to drive in.

The team who had hidden themselves when the trucks were spotted, now reported in their findings and asked for permission to enter which was granted by the Squad Leader, they gathered their gear before slipping in after the last truck had almost made it through the door, they found themselves in what seemed to be in a district and radio back their finding only to realize that their communications were scrambled and useless, so the team ditched their radios and went northward to see what they could find.

As the squad goes deeper and deeper into the subterranean district, it somehow gets brighter with harsh lights coming from above, and it gets harder and harder to see as they go deeper in. The air gets even worse once they reach the first residential district, almost like the air has been replaced by smog.

The squad try to find what they can to receive fresh oxygen with the leader finding his gas mask, two other finding canisters to breath into, while the last finds a dirty rag and pisses on it before wearing it around his face, they continue to explore the district to see if they can locate the source of such stench.

As they venture in the district to find the "stench" of the district, but the adventure doesn't take long to find the scene of the smell, because coincidently it gets much hotter as they move closer to the stench.

Their adventure finds themselves at an open door that is expelling a light brighter then the sun. What they are looking at is a supermassive foundry pouring molten steel into casts, and skimtari can be seen walking around working in the foundry. But they dont seem to notice the humans spying on them.

Both awed and cursing under his breath, the leader orders photographer to take a photo.

As they finish snapping the pictures the foremen spotted them and immediately alerted the MoSs hive to the intruders. Then almost like clockwork the moss start rushing the humans in the discrict. as they start running away from the foundry, the MoSs agents just keep growing and growing and chasing the intruders.

As they run the Leader yells to the Grenadier for a smoke grenade which the soldier complys by fumbling about his belt before he tosses a smoke grenade to his commander, the Leader then demands a spray canister from his engineer who produces a can of lubricant from his satchal and hands it to his commander, the leader thinking fast arms the smoke grenade placing it between his armpit and pulls out a lighter biting on to it as he tosses the smoke grenade in front of them which pops off as he turns around in a safe distance away from the smoke lighting his lighter hovering over the tip of the can before dowsing the smoke with fire.

The agents fumble back and start to regroup, once the smoke grenade runs out of smoke alarms start blaring all around the district. Doors start shutting and more heavily armed MoSs agents start rushing in.

And before long they are backed into a corner with agents with guns surrounding them.

The leader of the team seeing no way out wanted to fight to the last man but the engineer and photographer surrendered almost immediately leaving the grenadier the only one to convince his commander that they’d probably have a better chance of fighting in the future if they surrendered rather than fight a hopelessly outnumbered battle, the commander relented and laid down his gun alongside the grenadier who shouted and waved his hands in the air as a sign of surrender.

The armored MoSs agents quickly grab the intruders and drag them back to their surface outpost. On the way up, the intruders can see their airship just floating there, then they can see a gunship gracefully fly down, then they are thrown into the gunship.
