The last bullet pierced the air of Sclera - the besiegers ran out of ammunition while trying to break into the bunker underneath the Headquarters of Raktatvierd Inc. - the biggest steel manufacturer in the country. Different heads of departments, along with the CEO Medes Coripheis, were hiding from the raging rebels, protected by an array of automated defense systems, including laser turrets, melee- and ranged-combat droids, as well as dispensers of toxic chemicals. As the rebels exhausted their weapon supplies, first rows of gunmen took to bayonets, rushing forward in an attempt to destroy the droids and make way for the second and third row to get inside. Some of the fighters were hit by laser pulses in an instant, getting severe burns and falling to the ground. Others were quick enough to reach the droids, but only few managed to hit them hard enough to cause a malfunction. Wave after wave, a never-ending crowd of enraged rebels, equipped with bare minimum of a helmet and a simple rifle or a shotgun, tried to push through the defense lines. At some point, the entire staircase leading to the entrance was covered in mutilated corpses, and any survivors had to climb up, gripping onto their still warm limbs. Finally, as the sixth or seventh wave - there was no one to count them - entered the building, now free of any defenses, the ventilation was sprinkled with mustard gas, causing the fighters to retreat and look for something to cover themselves with. Dead people lost their shirts, as those were torn apart for improvised masks and gloves, and, finally, the rebels entered the bunker. It was only when they reached the command room that they found out the mustard gas sipped into the ventilation of the vault, leaving most of the management of Raktatvierd dead, with only CEO surviving, although with 3rd degree burns.
On the next day, the radio broadcast could be heard throughout the country, announcing complete defeat of the "Hexagon" - the group of national corporations which controlled the government of Bowitun for more than a century. The fate of the people was now in the hands of the rebellion.
