With the outbreak of the all out revolution Gouka entered a civil war. The Military, Emperor and Corporations all honored their agreement and entered the civil war as allies. The early stages of the civil war were extremely one sided with the military garrisons placed all around the major population centers such as Eienmaru, Yamashita Shi, and Gawaguchi Shi were quickly captured by the highly trained and numerous military garrisons. However, The revolutionaries had managed to secure support in many of said population centers and the rural areas of Gouka. They soon began a massive guerilla war in the population centers and fortified the rural countryside. The corporations used their wealth to increase the living conditions in an attempt to appease the supporters of the revolutionaries. This was most effective in Yamashita Shi and Gawaguchi Shi which had long been neglected by the government and had suffered multiple major droughts. By the end of 1554 the front had stabilized with the revolutionaries managing to hold Eienmaru and much of the rural lands while the Military, Emperor, and Corporation's coalition had secured Yamashita Shi and Gawaguchi Shi along with the suburban areas of the nation.
