"There is currently a little bit of problem solving in that regard. We have thaumaturgical technology, Sapphire-Krit, that could shield the Herald from any physical harm by, in practical terms, nullifying any external incoming momentum on contact, up to a certain limit. This however would lead us still very vulnerable to magical or other esoteric influences. We could construct the Herald in White-Iron, a material that would make it almost impenetrable to many common such influences. The problem with this is, it would make any Sapphire-Krit shielding more difficult. Plus, whatever we do, our magical weapon systems, engines, and the front weapon with the Apollyon Pearl would remain vulnerable spots, since we cannot magic-prove them and have them function at the same time."
"One approach would be to make an outer shell protected by Sapphire-Krit, shielding from physical attacks but vulnerable to magical influences, and an inner shell of White-Iron, to avoid esoteric influences reaching the construct's inside. There would be a number of open spots in the White-Iron shell for all the thaumaturgical engineering to connect to systems that lead to the outside, like any magical weapons and the Apollyon Cannon. Plus, for the magic that keeps the construct afloat."
"I am sure you also have a set of marvelous useful technology that is not within our specialties. I like all your modern mechanics of iron and fire."
