~Grand Warden Gijeng Kujij wakes up surprised to the sound of blasts from the sky and the army guard swarming around him. Gijeng is woken up abruptly, the guards beginning to rush them off to a safe location under their room, before a Relejian shaman from the Commonwealth government barged in and whistled at them all to hush them. "Silence, silence. We are NOT being attacked. The explosions you all heard were just glitter bombs being dropped over the city by passing foreign jets. A violation of noise and litter ordinances? Yes. But a threat? I think not." said the shaman. They nodded toward the guards and the guards swiftly left the Grand Warden's room as quickly as they came. Gijeng Kujij's husband was in the room, confused and scared. "Oh, and my apologies to the First Spouse for the ruckus." Gijeng's husband smiled. "Oh, it's fine. I was going to get up soon anyways...it's past sunrise," he said. Gijeng got his glamourous, colorful robe on and fitted their pink lei of cherry blossoms, customary for the role of Grand Warden, around their neck. "Now, what was on my plate today...oh yes, reading the letters!" "Yes, today is the World Open, you should probably have already read them all by now...oh, also, congratulations on the upcoming baby, Your Glory!" Gijeng smiled as the shaman pat their shoulder and waved goodbye, exiting the room.† As the shaman left the suite, Gijeng kissed their husband goodbye and exited the room, grabbing a cup of sweet coffee and then quickly trotting down the sixty-odd flights of stairs from the presidential penthouse suite to the ground floor. "Good morning, Your Glory! I hope you have a wonderful day!" cheerily chippered the lady at the front desk. "You as well, Adelinj." replied Grand Warden Kujij, leaving the building. A small huddle of guards surrounded the Grand Warden from each side, leading them off to their office. Cleanup workers were already working on clearing away the glitter all over the streets and trees. The pink bushes, grasses and leaves shone in the morning sun, and the white, permanent snow replected the sun's rays brightly. Gijeng soon got to their office and, after straightening their fins, sat at their massive desk. "Amyl! Bring me the letters, shall you?" called the Grand Warden from his desk. Amyl, their personal secretary, brought in the stack of letters, all written in different tongues, wrapped in different paper envelopes (or lack thereof for some of them). "Here is what you asked for. Maybe you shouldn't have procrastinated so much, if I may add," sassily remarked Amyl. "Girl, you need to not talk like that, someone's gonna get mad at you..." responded Gijeng. Amyl rolled her eyes and left the room. Gijeng picked up the letters and read them all, one by one. Their security had already informed them of the glitter "attack"'s Teprorian origins, confirming their interest in attending. There were letters written to varying levels of eccentricity and formality, some in Garderruth such as the letters from the nearby Prestore and S'Lanter, and some in foreign tongues that had to be interpreted by shamans using the growing linguistic archives stored in the Relej. The Indefinite Color's letter was...perplexing, to say the least, written in a whimsical manner as well as very brief and to the point. Herastonia's came with some sort of foreign bird, which Gijeng assumed was a gift of some sort. Tepror had...many, many letters, all dropped from the sky during their airshow, which apparently was much more enjoyed by the general populace than was enjoyed by Their Glory's security. Likewise to Herastonia's letter, Jikoshak's letter was delivered by and came with a small animal, this time a small pseudodragon. Gijeng marveled at the little thing, questioning its biology and similarities to the lizards of Kyldegard. Dairana, S'Lanter, and Prestore also sent formal letters, all noting their attendance at the World Open festival. Kyldegard's Council of Wardens, including Gijeng themself, would be attending to meet each nation's representatives, and so the city's security and police presence was much higher than usual. "Well then! Amyl! Let's get going, shall we?"
†The Kyleth species has three biological sexes, with females and androgynes both being capable of pregnancy. Grand Warden Gijeng Kujij, Kyldegard's current elected leader, is an androgyne. ~~
