The Ilusian New Dawn
From the desk of Her Enduring Majesty, The Duchess of Amber, Radiant Ruler of Clathermont and all it's Protectorates and Enlightened by the Sun Lord.
"My dearest subjects of Clathermont.
I address you, today, by first asking a simple question: What is the greatest gift bestowed to mankind by the Sun Lord? I have pondered this question myself, and have consulted with multiple advisors. I consulted the Sun Blinded priests, who answered that our faith is the greatest of gifts. I consulted the Count of Iron, and he said our strenght is our greatest asset. I consulted with the Countess of Mud, who said our prosperity. The Countess of Ink said our language, the Count of Cogs said our knowledge. All of these things are important, and make Clathermont what it is: a shining beacon of the Sun Lord's Generosity. However, none of these answers were satisfying to me. The true answer could of course, only come from the Sun Lord himself. I walked in the gardens, and he revealed the answer to me, warming my body with his divine light. Of course, my children, the greatest gift the Sun Lord ever gave to humankind, is his sunlight
This made me think: What have we done with the gifts that have been given unto us? What have we done with our strenght, our knowledge, our prosperity and most importantly, our faith? Have we followed the example of our lord, who spreads his light to all the world, for all his children? Or have we selfishly hoarded our gifts, failing to spread the words of Radiance that the Sun has taught us?
It is time, then, for Clathermont to share what has been given to us. Just like the sun emerges from the Horizon to end the night, so shall we finally walk into the dark, bearing the torch of our enlightnment. Fear not the dark, my children, for I will guide you, and together, we shall banish it. We are the Sun's emissaries, his rays of sunlight cutting through the night. We shall let the radiance of the Sun shine alll over the world, leading by example, and bringing light and radiance where we go. This, my children, is a new dawn for Clathermont, and the sun will shine in every corner of the globe!
What does this entail, my dearest subjects? It is time to end our isolation. It is time for the old order to be upturned. In my wisdom, in the past, I have taken measures which made sense at the time, which no longer do. You shall notice in the future that there might be more collaboration with other nations. There might be some changes around Clathermont. This, I trust you will understand, is all in the service of Enlightnment, and to bring the radiance of the sun to every inch his domain. Finally, and very importantly, just like the sun spreads it's light infinitely over the plains, Clathermont needs to expand it's light. Very soon, you shall see the beggining efforts of the expansion of our territory. It is our manifest destiny to occupy the land we live in, just like sun's light knows no bounds
Follow me, then, as you have so loyally followed me before, into a New Dawn, and help us spread the light of the Sun Lord and our Radiant Nation. For remember that in beauty we find strenght, and there is nothing as beautiful as the Sun's warm embrace. Long Live Clathermont!
