Southern Zarwah Emirate
Taahir and his convoy have been traveling back to Adliyah for some time now, just over a couple days, and the Landsurfers hummed as they made their way through an open area of steppe, only cut through by the highway. Other vehicles traveling the opposite direction pass by occasionally.
Taahir was humming to the tune that was playing on the radio. “Well, that was an adventure, huh lads?’ he’d say to the other occupants in the vehicle. They agreed, and some more chatter began about their trip and some other things. “We’re heading into Adliyah now.”
Tasmeem, the driver of the vehicle behind Taahir’s, looked at a screen on her dashboard, and something caught her eyes. She radioed to Taahir’s vehicle, cutting off the tune that was playing. “Stream One, we have picked up something on our sensors. Taahir looked down at his own screen, which showed one of many of the sensors they installed around the areas they explored was going off, the one nearest Tepror.
“Copy that, pull over,” Taahir would radio back before pulling off onto the shoulder of the road to get a better look. “There’s so many signatures registering on the thing, there must be hundreds, maybe thousands, of bugs moving east.”
Tasmeem and the others looked worried. “So soon as well, this has definitely alerted Tepror. We need to move faster.”
Taahir nodded. “Indeed we do.” Everyone quickly loaded back in the Landsurfers and they sped away down the highway, disregarding the speed advisories. By late afternoon, the Emir and the people who were planning to attend the meeting were all alerted by Taahir of their arrival back, and the meeting was still being prepared when Taahir and his expedition entered the room hastily. “Emir el-Abdelnour! We come with urgent news.”
Abdelnour looked from his discussion between himself and the Prime Minister. “Greetings, Taahir, what news do you have to share?” As he spoke, the room went quiet.
Taahir showed Abdelnour the readings from the sensors. “The bugs moved more swiftly than anticipated, we need to act immediately in order to protect their movement. It’s not a matter of if Tepror gets there, it’s a matter of when. I don’t doubt they will be hasty about this occurrence.”
Abdelnour sighed. “We must act swiftly,” He spoke clearly to everyone in the room. “And we must protect the bugs. We will alert all forces stationed in the Emirates of Hameh, Budabad, Zarwah, and Sharjurah to mobilize immediately, and put the entire military on high alert, we will need to be prepared for what could transpire because of this. The Protection Force of the Capital on high alert as well, just to be sure. Get as many personnel as you can out to the Borderlands to aid the bugs. Now go, I have some important calls to make to some foreign governments.”
The people in the room scrambled around to do their assigned tasks. Bases across the nation, especially in the North and East, were alerted immediately, and forces began to travel North to the path of migration.
