Royal Palace of Adliyah
In a room in the Royal Palace, Emir Abdul Haadi el-Abdelnour sat in his chair behind a desk, a camera stationed in front of him. Behind him stood two flags, the royals standard to the left, and the state flag to the right. In the room were several high-ranking officials and well-known politicians, including the Emir-Consuls and the Prime Minister, as well as the camera crew. The room was tense, as everyone was quite nervous for the news that was about to be shared.
The cameraman standing behind the center camera spoke. “Are you ready, your excellency?”
Abdelnour took a deep breath, contemplating many things as he gathered his thoughts, then he nodded. “Let’s get on with it.” He said curtly.
The cameraman nodded, and everyone stood silent as the cameraman counted down. “Going live in three… Two… One… On air.”
Across the nation, every television station cut to the emergency broadcast screen and every radio station cut to a monotone voice that informed whoever was listening that a speech by his excellency was about to take place. The nation essentially stood still and stopped what they were doing, as decrees like this are nearly unheard of. Soon, the screen cuts to His Excellency, who was sitting behind the desk.
“Citizens of Sta’ir, Human and Kattarid alike, today marks a turning point for our nation. As you have been made aware, we have set out on a mission to bring peace and justice to those around us, and our most recent mission was to help save the groups known as the We’Buwo from the grip of Tepror. The most recent event being the hasty migration of We’Buwo to the west, where we stated we could help protect them from annihilation. Now, Tepror has been starkly against this from the beginning, but things have now taken a sharp turn for the worst. Just earlier today, the fanatic Teproyatin have ceased all contact with us and have viciously turned down our requests for a diplomatic solution to free the We’Buwo. In addition to this, they call us hypocrites for aiding the We’Buwo. Stating that we, our upstanding nation, is hosting wanted terrorists who have, and I quote, ‘caused the deaths of countless Skimtari and have damaged Teprorian property.’ We have been labeled as the evildoers here, and it does not take a smart being to realize this is a blatant falsehood crafted by the Teproyatin to try and divert attention and pin blame elsewhere, while they are responsible for the most egregious acts against anyone that have been cataloged. We are the hypocrites when Tepror publicly supports its own actions of aggression and sadistic genocide. Tepror claims the We’Buwo kill Skimtari, when they are the ones attacking the We’Buwo, and they are trying to defend themselves where they can. Claiming that the We’Buwo damage Teprorian lands when they raze entire tribes and reduce entire areas to lifeless ash. We are not the aggressors here, we are doing what should have been done long ago. The Teproyatin think the We’Buwo are the foreign invaders, when they themselves are foreign.” He pauses for a second after his lengthy rant-speech. “Citizens of Sta’ir, our nation is at war. Fighting for not only the We’Buwo, but ourselves against a brute of a force. For this reason, we have called in some crucial help from a few nations, and this is our call to the world that if you can spare anything, we must act against these genocidal maniacs. If the We’Buwo cease to exist, they will only keep going, finding other targets, and those next targets could be you. Rest well Sta’ir, for we have a job to do.”
With that, the stations briefly switch back to the emergency broadcast screen, then back to normal television, which would soon be filled with local news reports and talks about the speech just earlier.
