Three weeks later
The capital districts
Word spread fast in the districts, most of the general population already agreed that the war needed to end before things got worse for them. The lines for the 80th national referendum were long but differed from last year. MoSs agents replaced the bureaucrats and the available vote options were replaced by the MoSs coordinator of the Captial District. Murmures filled the lines as people wondered why the MoSs were here, maybe there was another bomb threat? Then the Coordinator began to speak. "My compatriots, we share your Greef in these trying times, and it pains me and my men when I am to say. To ensure state security is reinforced, the National Referendums will be shut down immediately." This was met with whispers at first, the talking, then an uproar. "You can't do this!" Yells one skimtari, "The Court of Ethics will stop this." More screams along the same lines begin to fill the entire district, then the coordinator speaks up again. "Should you linger and fight the word of the MoSs you will be met force, and of course that also means incarceration at Point Nova or Betterment. So choose your next actions carefully."
The silence was palpable. no one moved other than the Coordinator turning off his speaker system. Then the skimtari began to file out, and slowly but surely the district area was being cleared, other than a few hundred skimtari. "THIS IS AN OUTRAGE, WE KNOW OUR RIGHTS." Yells one disgruntled citizen. "WE AREN'T MOVING UNTIL YOU GIVE US OUR REFERENDUM." But the Cordinator does not move, nods on both of his sides. Then all the standing agents rushed the remaining skimtari, taking their handcuffs and tasers, and moved. The attack was quick and ruthless, all the skimtari were beaten and dragged away news crews and underground journalists were able to capture only the aftermath. Calling it the "The slow burn of Teprorian democracy as we know it!."
