On the ground, air traffic control and military radar picked up the blips of the approaching transport. All border cities and bases in the Emirates of Budabad and Sharjurah were immediately warned of the approaching aircraft.
On the ground, near Habshais, a city in Badabad, a meeting of military officials was scrambled together. “We must do something about this!” one of them urged. “The timing is too close to some events for them, it could be a weapon!” Many others agreed with this sentiment. “The aircraft is gigantic, it could be anything!”
Another general spoke. “We will get our jets into the air, but with specific orders not to fire unless fired upon first. We don’t want to be responsible for any big incidents now.”
“But they are going to violate our airspace! They were banned from flying over our country.”
“Try contacting them.”
One of the generals nodded, then headed to a radio station in a nearby room. “This is Habshias Air Control, identify yourselves now.”
As contact was trying to be made, two jets took off to go and see what was happening.
