Weberschloss Ruinen

On a cool and starclear night, a team of explorers in the Crown was visited by a charming young fey. They left a cryptic note, leaving directions for a mentioned "Weberschloss".

The exploration team, tasked with exploring the Weberschloss ruins near the Korolya capital were a bit confused. But then one pieced two and two.
"Oh, i think I know where the castle is. Would you like to join us in inspecting it?"

The Weberschloss looked ancient, it was in ruins. It was just standing there. The fact that the Crown hadn't until yet seemingly noted it seemed curiously strange, as such ruins couldn't easily be hidden. They were black and spindly. The sky was permanently dim and clouded. The folk living near the castle sometimes mentioned sometimes hearing the sound of spinning wheels echoing from the Weberschloss. Equipment tended to malfunction in its proximity.

The fey that delivered the message had left before the crew could converse with them. Yet they met her again at the foot of the castle's hill. She was standing in an open plane, dead trees around, with a table and a chair, like it was the most normal place for a table and chair. She held a small backpack. She welcomed the crew, and introduced herself as Nieder. Her occupation was intruding ruins and retrieving artifacts and stories.

The atmosphere seemed to dim as the crew had come closer to the Weberschloss. The leader now thought too hearing the sound of spinning wheels. From one moment to another, the fog seemed thicker.

Seeing this ruin appear out of nowhere, paranormal teams were called on site. But they will take a while, so why not explore while they come.
The leader of the expedition sits down with Nieder. She says her name is Jorji. Her occupation is to go to ruins and document items. Since both of them seem to being in the same ruins to do archeology work, she's agreed to let Nieder join along. Having a Fey with you was always said to be good across the Crown as they always have a plan for everything.

Nieder handed Jorji a torch. "We'll need it. Otherwise how would we know if we find something interesting? And how else can it dramatically be extinguished by the wind?" She took a cookie from a pocket and took a bite. "Also, I also left a note to someone else, they'll soon arrive, I'm sure."

Arcy

"A torch, good ol' cloth and sticks. It works very well for light." Jorji says. "And the dramatic wind is also fun."
She gets ready, for the hike from the base of the hill up to the castle around 100 m up in altitude.
"I guess we'll wait for the other guests before we get going with the expedition."

Korrij arrived to the location. "Hey, am I late?", he said.

The Weberschloss ruins stood ominously in the background. There was a large central tower, with what looked like a large central mechanism, broken, with a large brass bell. From afar the crew could also spy what looked like the remains of a garden. The question was now, where to start the exploration.

Due to the failing of regular modern tech near the ruins, the explorers had oil lamps and books to note down all they found.
Walking up the hill to the ruins, the scenery changed from a bit of dead trees to a forest of them the higher up they went.
Korrij, Jorji, and Nieder find themselves in front of the gatehouse of the castle. It seems untouched, only because no life could grow on it. Most of the stones on the wall of the gatehouse had cracks in it from the times passed since the Age of Ruin.

Jorji looked at the gatehouse, and remarks that
"This is new. No castle in the Crown at that era had gates this fancy."
