In the northeast of Central Lorzepk lies a basin, resembling an oval "crater," ranging in depth from an average of 2 to 20 meters below the surrounding area. It spans approximately 60 kilometers in length and around 40 kilometers in width. Some areas, most notably the "Blood Lakes" (containing an unknown liquid of light to dark red color with magical qualities and high viscosity), are located in the lowest parts of the basin towards the center. These lakes can reach depths of up to hundreds of meters, though they do not cover a large overall area. Submarine technology available in the basin is not advanced enough for thorough research or exploration of these deep lakes due to their hostile qualities.
The outskirts are dotted with many small and larger outposts monitoring the area around the clock, usually in three 8-hour shifts. The area is known for "anomalous" activity, primarily involving "Blood Beings" and the Blood Lakes' magical influences. The flora and fauna are not very different from the surrounding Lorzepkan forests, hills, and plains, though they are slightly more adapted to the more humid environment of the Blood Basin.
