(This is where I'll be doing the home affairs of Auredia.)
Waves splash against the sand & mud of the western Oksai Sea. Our fledgling nation had finally ended it's war with ⁽¹⁾Domare, and 'Victory-Day' parades have begun all across ⁽²⁾Auredia. People are dancing, celebrations are being held, and soldiers are returning home from war, to their wives and children. The main major cities had been spared any fighting, except for Domare itself. The war didn't last long, at most it was only around 7 months, but so much fighting essentially crippled the Domare area of Auredia. 200,000 Domaris died in the fighting, compared to only 80,000 Auredians. Stores were left unmanned. The streets and countryside felt hollow. Too many lives were thrown away for such a futile war.
But, even if so many had died, peace had returned. That's the one thing that mattered. ⁽³⁾Velmaren ⁽⁴⁾Lysira Teranth knew that the only thing that mattered in that moment, was recovery. Domare had been rivals to Auredia for quite a long time, and the population was sure to not accept Auredian rule. But they would one day. One day.
Lysira called the ⁽⁵⁾Seradyn to her office, who arrived almost immediately holding a stack of papers, as he was struggling to open the door for about 15 minutes.
"Vezairen, Velmaren Lysera. En taellun dosva merein, vi allarin aktrenthen vestra Dominarek. Thalen vestrin darin byn haelen ⁽⁶⁾Dovasyni. Saest venhars nai selketh fael vorran ai lenareth. Maerna. Etren voska fer chai. Tresson etra."
"Hail, Velmaren Lysera. I've got plenty of papers for you. All of which are relating to the recent conquest of Domare. All of which have been forwarded to you by each and every Dovasyn. Seems those snakes are utterly incapable of letting the region catch their breath. No matter. I'll get you some more coffee. Be right back!"
Lysera glanced over to ⁽⁷⁾Maletra, who set the stack of papers down on her desk. Now walking over to the desk to sit down, she shook her head.
"Na thalven, esten dosi vorr chai, en thazien, Maletra. Vaer thalas ⁽⁸⁾Cantadyns veysun ⁽⁹⁾Iskarra varel, en saelin vorrsentari trevain ek serathe Domarin. Alvaran thesan vieren, nai sevaran. Vessar lendai venharn is revellik. Saran nai vastrin eltharir."
"Don't bother, I'll do fine without any coffee, but thank you Maletra. See to it that the Cantadyns visit Iskarra soon, and send out representatives to survey and interview the peoples of Domare. We need them to trust us, not hate us. The last thing we could possibly want is a rebellion. They wouldn't be able to afford it anyway."
Maletra fell silent as he watched Lysera look over paper after paper, lingering at her office door before watching as she looked up from the papers to stare at him, looking more than annoyed by the amount of paperwork for a single day.
"Ek allarin haelen Dovasyni? Aestra, nai lenvaren thar selka a ⁽¹⁰⁾cantara inthren alvarik, saevan velthas endrin vorrin. Halten allarin dosva merein in telkar vi. En taellun mestra venkarin vi Komandrari. Na velen estra in reska."
"And all of these are from the Dovasyns? Truly, it's no wonder that as soon as a region is added into the Republic that they'd want to dip their hands into the situation. Keep all of those papers in a file for me. I've got a meeting with the Commanders to go to. Don't let anybody into the office."
Maletra gave her a small salute, opening the door for her as she left the office.
"Zai, Velmaren. ⁽¹¹⁾Lir Vestra Doman!"
"Yes, Velmaren. 'Prosperity Through Unity!'"
Maletra watched her walk down the hall, bringing her guard with her before turning back to the papers on the table. He walked to the papers, and began sorting them all into categorized files, one for each Dovasyn. It would all be done after the Velmaren met with her Commanders, these next few weeks were going to be interesting for Auredia.
⁽¹⁾ - Domare is the Northernmost region of Auredia, and is the newest addition to the Republic, after the Dominion War.
⁽²⁾ - Auredia, officially, Republic of Auredia, and in Veskaran, Resvalen Auredix, is a fledgling, small nation on the western coast of the Oksai Sea, that rose to power after the Dominion War with Domare, in which they won a total victory.
⁽³⁾ - Velmaren is the (elected) Head of State of Auredia. It is the Republic's equivalent of a President.
⁽⁴⁾ - Lysira Teranth is the current Velmaren of Auredia, age 29. She came to power after emergency elections ousted former Velmaren Agness Olith.
⁽⁵⁾ - Seradyn is the right-hand-man of the Velmaren. They handle paperwork, and represent the Velmaren's interest whenever the Velmaren cannot be somewhere in person.
⁽⁶⁾ - Dovasynis are the Republic's equivalent of a Minister. Currently, there are seven Dovasyni.
⁽⁷⁾ - Maletra is the current Seradyn of Auredia, age 27. He is the best friend of Lysira, and was appointed to his position after outperforming all other Seradyn candidates.
⁽⁸⁾ - Cantadynis are the Republic's provincial leaders. Each Cantadyn must report to the capital every six months to swear allegiance.
⁽⁹⁾ - Iskarra is the capital of the Republic.
⁽¹⁰⁾ Cantara is a direct translation of the word 'Province'. Cantari is 'Province of'. Reskari is 'Capital Province of'.
⁽¹¹⁾ - "Lir Vestra Doman." is the national motto of the Republic, meaning "Prosperity Through Unity.".
