The biological difference wasn't really accounted for. I mean, as far as Auredia knew, there were humans, elves, and a few other races. But none as different as this. Sarethal had taken note of the aversion to handshaking, and the.. fact the cars were a little more than a tad too small, but there was honestly little he could do now. Looking to one of the officials who took the stack of papers, he turned back to them. "...You know, apologies if this all seems a little rushed, we sort-of expected you to be here in a few days time, not immediately." He tugged at his shirt collar before clearing his throat. "By tomorrow's time, we'll have accommodations and vehicles that properly fit your race." He bowed his head slightly. "I apologize on the behalf of Auredia. Let's waste no time, now."
They got into a separate car shortly after Amanda got in the escort car. While it was a little cramped, the backseat did have a couple amenities. Drinks, magazines, souvenir post-cards. A few history books according to what Auredia teaches, which mainly went 'Domare Bad, Veskarans Good'. The cars began to move, and their driver took the front of the small convoy. A National Guard vehicle eventually joined the convoy, mainly for Amanda's protection as Auredia was partially aware that some Domaris may be a little more than angry. Within a few minutes, they were in the Iskarran Historical District. Cobblestone roads, old-fashioned houses, and an old marketplace turned into a roundabout. There was even a portion of the old medieval walls still maintained, though that's mainly for tourism purposes as it was practically just a pillar, instead of a wall. The driver didn't speak much, letting the two in the backseat talk among themselves or watch the scenery.
Within a few more minutes, they had reached Serrathis. Honestly, it seemed like it all was still Iskarra. The two cities really did just sit right next to eachother, one metropolis to the next. Though, the way you could tell, is that the larger buildings, such as sky-scrapers, quickly and rather suddenly stopped as soon as you entered Serrathis. Building height restrictions were put in place to keep the city as close to the Veskaran culture as possible (despite it not even being founded by Veskarans, but instead, a culture that diverged from Veskaran). Most of the people there were tourists, visiting the beaches of Serrathis, or just looking to add another place to their travel list. In the distance, a large glass building stood high upon one of the only cliffs in the entire country. To be honest, it was probably constructed but like, half the coastline was flooded. You cannot blame us. The rest of the journey through the bustling streets of Serrathis was rather lively. There was several different celebrations all happening throughout the city, celebrating the total victory over Domare with patriotic fervor. Quietly, the driver finally spoke up, his voice grainy, and a tired look upon his face.
"You know, my boy actually served against Domare. Was one of the first people to volunteer for the war." He glanced to the rear view mirror, before back forward. "He didn't make it home, he stepped on a landmine out in the eastern fields of Domare somewhere. All I got back was a replacement uniform and a medal for his death." He continued driving, the convoy coming up on the Serrathis Spring Hall now. "Good luck in there. I'll be waiting outside." He remained quiet until the car came to a halt, at which point he stepped out of the vehicle, and opened her and her bodyguard's doors.
The other officials too, exited their cars. The National Guard that went with them also took to setting up a garrison around the Spring Hall to mainly keep out curious Auredians and PESKY Domaris. The Velmaren, Lysira approached. She bowed her head and spoke. "I heard they didn't get you the proper cars? Surely, I will see to it that Someone fixes this issue." She shot a mean glare over to one of the officials, who gulped and quickly had to excuse themselves to answer a call. Now returning to Amanda with a smile, she spoke. "Welcome to Auredia. I apologize for the lack of knowledge in your people, we're just now reaching out after having been around for about.. half a century. My predecessors weren't too fond on reaching out beyond our borders." She motioned to the Spring Hall's grand, glass doors. "Let us go inside. We've got many things to discuss, and I'm curious about life in Tepror, too!" She smiled, heading inside as the officials followed in after her.
