Earlier this week, extensive talks occurred within Vale Palace between King Calo, his Royal Advisory, and his Foreign Minister, Theodore Kane, regarding the possibility of not only relaxing our border laws, but reaching out to our neighbours, to establish relations with them. Such things are rarely discussed, as our Sealed Kingdom Laws are some of the most important to our nation. However, Minister Kane reportedly revealed information about foreign technology that intrigued the King.
Via the Royal Post, his Majesty released a statement about what comes next.
"The past century-and-a-half has brought immense change in this land. In mere decades, we went from a neglected colony in a failing Empire, to an independent, self-sufficient, proud nation. We have flourished on our own, through the blood, sweat and tears of each other, never once surrendering or calling for help. In many people's eyes, including mine, our nation is a truly successful autarky. However, as ambition brought us here now, it must drive us further.
Honesty is paramount in times such as these, and the truth is that we must develop. We do not compare well to our neighbours, when it comes to our weaponry, our technology, our economy. It appears that distancing ourselves so greatly from those on the other side of the border has kept us trapped in the past, so to speak, and if we were to continue as we are now, we will always be those few steps behind.
I announce in this statement that the gears are in motion for an official visit to the neighbouring countries. I, your King, along with some amongst my court, and citizens of my choosing, will depart from Helleni Airfield, and we shall not return without good news, I am sure. This is new for all of us. Those of you who read worryingly are not alone. I am anxious that I have never taken a flight before! I have also never stepped foot on foreign soil. However, I promise to you all, we shall be extremely pleased with the outcome, upon our return. For now, I shall reach out to our neighbours, and agree times, terms and conditions."
