The Great meeting would then begin, being translated as it happened into Solaren:
Xanaaq̇ut: "Welcome all, friends, brothers and sisters, to the Tsodzuń, blessed the great spirits all the same faces are here as last year. I would like to know from the border regions first, ¿How are the skirmishes against the Ł̣yqçunyw (Invader short-folk) in the south since I left?"
Tłsiitł̣eew: "They have been driven off the Southern Peaks and the Silver Meadows at last. However now they are banding together outside the limits of our lands, they dare not cross the K'ooluj River yet"
A click of approval would be heard from the Tsot'aan
Xanaaq̇ut: "I assume then that they will not bother us for a while"
Tłsiitł̣eew: "I would not be certain of that, remember that they had followed us during the Skyfall, they will keep trying, though they have been weakened they are amassing at a fast rate, at least five Tł̣uƚ arrive at their positions. We might have more than a year to face them"
Ẋaqiiwat: "Then we must cross the K'ooluj and face them ourselves, even if we venture off our native lands"
Tłsiitł̣eew: "Our warriors are hesitant to go to that extreme, they believe a defensive strategy will suffice"
Quṕyċe: "¿Didn't our first leader, mighty Quƚaq of Alẋlaq, commit to such an attack before or is the Thunderstride a myth? It'll serve as a testament of our renewed strength and to prove to the Ċqxnyw of what we are capable of; they have only seen us at peace"
A dead silence followed afterwards, until the Tsot'aan sighed, looked up and spoke
Xanaaq̇ut: "If what the western tribes report is true, we have to ride soon there"
Ńṭċyyq: "The human tribes will respond to your call, if it is what we must do"
Xanaaq̇ut: "Good...yes we will need as many as we can gather" He paused for a second and then turned again to speak "¿How many can you all gather in the next month?"
The somber tone of the Tsot'aan revealing an almost routine-like air to his question, he had been fighting for over 20 years at that point. A tiresome affair, but it had to be finished now. The chieftains then each gave their individual answer, in total the Confederation could muster 40.000 dze warriors and an additional 5.000 human warriors. It was settled, they were marching westwards in two months. The meeting however continued, for an hour or two more various internal topics would be discussed, the migration of tribes for the winter, the patterns of migrations of animals and the redistribution of tribal boundries after the latest reconquests, which would allow for each tribe to have more land still until the last topic was discussed:
Xanaaq̇ut: "Well...we have one more topic to conclude this meeting: As you can see to my left we have some old visitors here, and they have not been the only ones. I have had reports of a sudden fall from the sky bearing newcomers of strange appearance as well as the pelt-eared folk from the far east. Having them here present is a good opportunity to discuss what should we do with these new arrivals"
Ḳeeƚaq: "We have not seen new arrivals since the days before the First Confederation and they have all been friendly so far, I still however think we ought to be prepared should any newcomers be of a more aggresive stance"
Quṕyċe: "I can ask for more companies of rangers to patrol the northern coasts if that is what we need"
Alẋtoca: "I will do the same, however I think we must first deal with the threat west of us than with whatever may come from the coasts"
Xanaaq̇ut: "Very well, I will assign as many companies as we can dispose to that task for now and we will later reinforce them with those that return from our campaign. The stance we took two years ago then remains reinforced"
A drum would sound thrice on the valley, announcing the end of the meeting
Xanaaq̇ut: "See you all on the K'ooluj my friends"
He would then turn to the Solarians, almost three hours of talking it had been and now they were all resting for the night, but he was determined to see if they understood all.
Xanaaq̇ut: "I hope it wasn't that long of an event, this has in fact been one of the shortest meetings in a long time. ¿Did you understand everything? ¿Do you have any questions?"
