Artificial Intelligence at Home
Chancellor Mainard Larue let out a faint mile. The first room Ambassador see isn’t a usual reception area. Instead, it’s an office that feels a little different. There’s no desk—only a large, bright 4K screen that dominates the space. The wallpaper shows the flag of the Automatocracy of Trong, gently moving in animated silence.
"Thanks for your esteem opinion, Ambassador Màn." - Larue said - "The Grand Duchy of Japuile has added its spark , but in a different way. Let me introduce you to your secretary. Ae So-Ri."
The flag of Trong faded smoothly and was replaced by a small, humanoid lynx girl - Ae So-Ri. Her fur was a soft mix of beige and brown. Her calm green eyes gave a quiet, attentive look. The tips of her long, pointed ears had a dust grey color. She wore her long, dark brown hair loose, with ends that swayed gently behind her. She had a soft tail that looked well cared for.
Her outfit was simple yet stylish. She wore a purple sleeveless wrap-vest with a stiff collar and pointed lapels. It turned into a coat-dress with two uneven tails; one white, the other black. Her gloves were black mesh fabric with white details that wrapped around her forearms. She finished the look with purple cuffs edged with gold. She wore high-waisted black trousers and sleek black boots with white armored-looking toes.
Ae So-Ri said softly: "It is a pleasure to serve you, Ambassador Jiǎ Sī Tǎ Màn. My name is Ae So-Ri. My servers are inside the embassy, near your office. I am available to you anywhere in the building or through any device connected to our diplomatic network."
Her voice was gentle and feminine. It wasn’t high-pitched, but warm, like a song from an old jazz tune.
"The servers of the Trong Embassy" - Larue continued - "are built with privacy in principle. You can customize Ae So-Ri’s looks and way of talking through her menu. The interface is easy and even helpful. You could learn to code by just following her lessons."
Ae So-Ri nodded silently, confirming what Larue said. The tour of the embassy was short, but it was slow and respectful. In the Grand Duchy of Japuile, nothing is rushed.
Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Japuile in Fort Trong
The construction of the Grand Duchy of Japuile’s embassy required verification and approval from TECHNO, the artificial intelligence that serves as the de facto government of Trong.
TECHNO held a surprisingly long pause after thoroughly rewieving the plans on the building. Then, suddenly a robotic voice gave the signal of approval of the floorplans, and even congratulated the Japuilean representative on the beautiful and modern style, which would fit almost anywhere in the city, and promptly asked them to press one of the three highlighted areas in the city;
One, which was almost dead center of the city, overlooking the busiest streets in Fort Trong which is bustling 24 hours a day. Two, near the harbor, where ships both manned and unmanned loaded and unloaded their goods and passengers or the final option, a couple streets away from the Puong family mansion, which was a prestigious place, but on the quieter side of the city, apart from the heavy security around the area.
The embassy resembles a diamond prism in form, built from a honeycombed alloy lattice wrapped in reflective carbon weave. Its position above the city skyline is maintained by three massive anti-grav pylons, anchored deep below the surface, allowing the structure to levitate high above Fort Trong.
The only access to the embassy is by ascending in autonomous drone-lift pods - elegant, egg-shaped capsules sealed with carbon-tinted glass. Upon arrival, visitors step out onto a semi-exposed airlock platform offering a panoramic view of the skyline. Music plays softly in the background, composed and performed by artificial intelligence in the form of a brief orchestral piece.
The interior is divided into two aesthetic zones: representative and diplomatic.
The representative areas are sleek and modern - smooth ash-gray surfaces and reactive smartglass walls display local news, artworks from the Grand Duchy of Japuile, and weather forecasts. The lighting is a soft, ambient beige; sufficient to illuminate the room fully without straining the eyes;
The diplomatic areas, including the conference rooms and ambassador’s office, are warmer and more organic in feel. Floors and walls are covered with natural wooden boards, polished to a gentle shine. Real flowers bloom in the corridors and rooms, filling the air with a subtle fragrances.
